Things are moving forward.
Mark and Devon have left the fine house we rented on Pierce Street and moved aboard. Thanks to Carol for the hospitality!!
Now they are living in the boat while in the yard.
No plumbing, no propane.....23 steps up a ladder each time.
builds character.
The bilges and fibreglass repair are nearly complete. The rudder has been inspected and passed. Marks has rewired the bonding system. And completly refurbished the battery compartment. The steering room is looking good, with fresh paint, re run wiring and reseated and rebacked aft chainplates.
And speaking of chainplates......the new ones are done and installed. Good job ...I mean really good job.
The rig (mast) is still out of the boat. ALL standing rigging is being replaacedas are all wire terminanals and mast tangs. Hell new spreaders while the checkbook is out. Pt Townsend rigging is doing a great job and they are really, really nice people too!. Kinda makes spending an unexpected $18,000 a little easier.
The main engine cooling system has been gone thru. The fresh water heat excahnger was "pickled" by an unknown radiator shop in WA. Apparently "pickling" is big time against the rules. Ya know....the envioronment and all that. But it works now.
The Hydrovane self steering unit is installed. The water maker is next.
We bufffed the hull and sand all the bottom paint (a six day project).
The UPS truck drivers deliver stuff almost daily. Spares and replacement parts mostly. Although the new BBQ did arrive....we cant hook it up just yet. The propane systme isn't done.
The good news is that every noted item on the original survey has been repaired or replaced.
The mast goes in later this week.
After the boat gets in the water the following systems need attention
- get the generator up and running. Its brand new
- get the watermaker up and running. new also.
- Test the refridgeration system ...it been off since November (shit)
- Get the main motor up and running
- test fit the new sails (yep...they are Lee Sails) no mo racing.
- test the boats sanitation system (after the just completed rebuild)
OK thats it for today.
Dustin and Nicky are scheduled to arrive May 16.
